This hurricane plotting map was made in 1956 likely in response to the 1955 hurricane season which was the most destructive to date and the public sentiment of the lack of preparation. Created by Reid’s Map Service of Hialeah, Florida it was presented as a public service to the readers of the Miami Herald. Detailed instructions are provided below the title, along with an inset in the upper left showing the tracks for ten of the most destructive Atlantic hurricanes since 1900. The map is approximately 24" across and 16" in length. It is fair condition with a few tears along the edges, a couple spots and some discoloration and a piece of tape on the back. ( see pics) Great piece of paper ephemera for any collector and a uniguw insight is local Florida and national history.
